GCD Showcase 2026
Collaboration with Arthur Yu on the brand identity for the Graphic Communication Design Programme at Central Saint Martins.
Whilst working as Graduate Studio Assistants, Arthur and I were invited to design the showcase identity for the programme. Alongside creating a bold system to unite and signpost all of the graduate work, the course team were keen to address the need to better communicate each course, which we addressed through both the design and the copy that was created between myself and the course teams.
This showcase branding reflects our graduates finding their bearings in an ever-evolving discipline. We took the arrow and the stencil as our guide: a language of orientation and authorship for a cohort drawing new maps as they go. Sceptical of the speed at which visual culture flattens experience, our graduates treat friction as an opening rather than a roadblock, holding onto nuance and the kind of understanding that resists easy summary. Design becomes a way for them to position themselves in the world: understanding where they are and how different futures might be imagined.
