Neutraface
My response to a brief that asked us to instruct someone on how to draw a chosen character from a given typeface. The user is given a letter from Richard Neutra, the interior plan, the garden plot, a pencil, and a clip board. It was important to have a separate layer for the natural elements and the interior because Richard Neutra himself placed huge significance on bringing nature in and utilising it to create privacy. The user is asked to draw the steel beams around the house (this was a key element of all his residential properties) so that Neutra could then send the property off for planning permission acceptance. The overall design of the house took complete inspiration from Neutra’s architectural plans, from the number of rooms to the open plan living to the beams extending into the garden to form a shaded terrace.
